Ellen was hired as Executive Director of The Wagnalls Memorial in 2006. She has responsibility for the library, community center, theatre, and scholarship programs. Prior to her tenure at Wagnalls, Ellen was an attorney in private practice specializing in estate planning, probate, and domestic relations law. In the course of her career, Ellen also has been Executive Director of The Leo Yassenoff Foundation and Administrative Officer of The Battelle Memorial Institute Foundation. As both Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff of The Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce and Vice President of The United Way of Tri-State in New York City, she had internal administrative duties and external public responsibilities. Her undergraduate work was in English education and she taught secondary school in the Diocese of Columbus. Ellen has a history of professional association and community involvement including Choices for Victims of Domestic Violence, Columbus Metropolitan Club, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, and Marburn Academy. She is the recipient of the Community Service Award from The Buckeye Ranch and the Outstanding Citizen Award from the Columbus Jaycees.
