CLC contracts Talking Tech
August 7, 2008
The Central Library Consortium has made an agreement with Talkingtech to provide Automated Voice Notice services. Talkingtech is an interactive voice messaging company; their technology is designed to send voice messages to large customer bases. Talkingtech was formed in 1986 and now services a wide range of major mobile, telecommunications and utility companies all around the world.
The service we have pruchased is called i-tiva for Libraries. It is a connection that our patrons can access 24 hours a day, seven days a week and/or a personalised reminder to help them return overdue items and collect reserved or held items.
i-Tiva will provide two incoming lines enabling patrons to stay "more connected" to CLC services. One of the incoming lines has a toll free number (1-877-77BOOKS). Three outgoing lines are also available and will be calling our patrons for gentle reminders on overdue and hold notices at a rate of 50 calls per hour per line. Increasing CLC's calling capacity to over 1500 calls a day.
CLC expects to activate i-tiva within the first two weeks of November 2008.
